Parameter Renaming
As described in earlier tools pages, business rule parameters are the
building blocks of PeopleSoft Pension Administration. The parameter
naming approach is a critical component of system support and
maintenance. It is a good development practice to use standardized naming
conventions, but in practice, standards can slip due to duplication, character
constraints or an effort to create meaningful names.
As a result, Pension implementations end up with parameters that you would prefer
had different names. And with nested configuration elements, manually changing
component names would have unintended consequences that you are not willing to risk.
